This was a garden that had already been designed, and the beautiful landscaping freshly constructed, by Lawson Landscapes. My brief was to source and put in the plants...
After a good chat with the owner we decided to make the planting a bit more diverse and also to add more evergreens and climbers for year round interest. A date was then set for planting, which in this case we did together. This gave opportunity for the owner to really get to know the plants, and for me to share information about how to look after them. But if anything is needed after this point, I can still answer questions via the phone/text/Whatsapp or come back in person for garden maintenance or advice !
,Really enjoyed helping to add some plant life and evolve the bathroom theme in this newly decked courtyard garden in Easton last summer. The only thing missing was a bathtub and a bidet from this suite but we decided a jacuzzi (just out of sight on the top deck) would really make for an immersive experience. This is a good example of how to add colour and plants into a small space in a low maintenance way, really allowing you to enjoy it, apart from the odd bit of watering here and there...
Towards the end of last year I planted up two different kinds of sedum roof for Matt Lawson of Lawson Landscaping. What I like about these roofs, which can be created on top of various structures, in this case bike and bin shelters, is the variety of plants that can be used to suit the conditions. The roof on the left sits in a shadier position and so I used a variety of woodland plants on it, including ferns, sedges, and periwinkles, whereas the one on the right is in a much sunnier position and has been planted with a wide variety of sedums, which should carpet the shed roof once they get going, be drought resistant and provide an array of flowers for wildlife in the summer.
